Default Porsche GT3 vs Ferrari Enzo (+200 mph)

http://www.gumball3000blog.com/2006/...4-gt3-vs-enzo/

The GT3 hits the 197 mph (317 km/h) and he couldn't keep up with the enzo!

Well Im suprised how well the GT3 actually did. I expected the Enzo to simply go at 2x speed.

Not suprised really, straight road, outright power will always win.... but yeah, didn't know a gt3 could go that fast? Sure its not a GT2?

It was a movie of Team 19 during the Gumball 2004. It was in Marocco, correct. There were no speed limits in Marocco, confirmed by the Marocco President.

I also can confirm that it was a GT3 and not a RS or a GT2. Here is a picture of that German team:

Holy smack. . . that is fast. Hahah almost 200mph and the Enzo didn't even break a sweat. The GT3 is very impressive as well. That's a lot of speed for a car only rated at 380hp .

Thanks for the vid.

I read in a car magazine a while back (R&T, C&D or MotorTrend) that the speedometers of European cars were commonly off, especially at high speeds. This could explain the surprising indicated speed of 317 kph.

^^^all factroies set their speedometers to show higher speed than their real speed because of safety issue. However sportcar makers like ferrari , porsche etc... makes their speedometers more realistic than other companies. I read a article about that two years ago and said" we put 5 cars a gps speedometer and we tested their original speedometer. The test was at 120kph ford focus did 109kph vw passat did 110kph mercedes s class (I don't remember wich engine has it) did 112 kph and porsche 911 did 116 kph last one was a tiny car but I don't remember wich one I guess it was daihatsu". And in adition to this 996 911 gt3 has most relaible speedometer when it was first produced. When it show 300 kph actually it is going at 304 kph. I read this at CAR magazine.
