What porsche should do if it has BALLS, is make a stripped-out boxter or cayman, and sell it for a lower price... but they'll never do it because it'd enter 911 territory
[EDIT] Then again, if they make it "spartan" enough to not really compete with 911s anyway, maybe it could be done?
