Default ISP **Help on wireless internet network please**

pardon my ignorance but whats an ISP? ops:

thanxs
EDIT: please guys help!!,

within a few month my new house will be finished, and i want to have wireless internet conection in the whole house!

the company that is going to install the internet service gives me the option of a 512kbps conection with the option to create a small net inside my house with 3 computers, but a wired ethernet network, and i dont want that, i want wireless conection, since im waiting for a friend of mine to sell me a brand new Sony VAIO, i dont know the product just the specifications, and i dont know if it has the 802.11b card in it, anyways i wouldn't mind to buy the card.

now this is what i get:

the install the whole thing and they conect me only 1 computer, so the network i have to create it myself, i was kinda wondering if i conect the modem to the router (link down), would i need to make any other configuration to the machines?, they told me that the router has the option to give the IP adress to each pc.

i've been searching for products and stuff, this is what i have found:

Never hear or seen this brand, but since i have to pay everything the price is right for me, but if any of you guys have bad reference about this brand let me know please!

this is the wireless router: CLICK HERE

this are the cards for the notebooks:CLICK HERE

let me know guys

thanxs in advance!!!!

ERmmmm... an Internet Service Provider

i.e. the company who you pay for your internet access.

Do you want to network the computers together, or give internet access to them all?

I think graywolf will help you... he gave a lot of technical advice on networks to somebody in this section a while ago, but that may have been wireless

PS - edit your first post and change the title of the topic to get more networkers to visit

For wireless routers US Robotic's I heard is very good for a cheap price check it out here:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...u=U13-4106%20P

and for the receiver:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...p?EdpNo=602203

Check out their tests compared with linksys and other ones.

If you are going to be playing internet games (like cs) you might get lag spikes, I do with my type b router (linksys) / reciever (Msi).

after taking a good look at U.S. robotics site i found the US ROBOTICS home networking for dummies , pretty nice, i think i found the way, and there it tells me how to configure all, as for hardware us robotics is my choice!, cheap and better! i'll just a lil bit araid that i could screw things with IP adresses and stuff, but well i guess i'll need help anyways
