As a third year student at the university of Aerospace technology (studied aerodynamics for 3 years), I can say that this is bullshit. When the car would fly upside down, it may have acted like a wing of an airplane, but now it was the other way around, you can clearly see something on the rear, suspension or something, broke. then the car went backwards and over the curbs and flew.
^^exactly, the underbody is flat so as to make low pressure beneath the car which glues it to the track. When you reach the limit of downforce though, it's like a jet fighter taking off. In such light cars at high speeds even the slightest raise of the nose can make you fly.
