The video was posted by the kid who had an Enzo, F50, etc in his garage. he was a former member here. Maybe his dad bought the F1 too?

An F1 at 40%? Or less.

Mind you, i'd be careful too, but not as ginger as that.

I heard 1x blip, 0xmax revs, and one nicely controlled bit of slide.

Come on sonny, get some lessons.

Awesome vid. One of the best Mac F1 vids I have seen. Doesn't anyone know who was driving? Whomever it is, it looks like he rented the whole airfield for himself. I've never seen anyone run the complete circuit like that. They usually just do a quasi 1/4 mi, go around the right hander, and then go for Vmax.

What was with the GTR wing, but the road car dash??

The Porsche 959 made the F40 look it was put together by a bunch of high school kids.

Apparently Enzo came out with the F40 (i.e. after the 959) in response to the 959 because it made their supercar of the day (the 288 GTO) look so dated. In my opinion, the F40 wasn't much of a technical leap from the GTO.

To give you an example of just one of the technologies that were brought to the automotive world with 959 was sequential turbocharging. What's the big deal with this example, you ask? Well, BMW has eschewed turbos altogether, for anything except their diesels since they used turbos in F1 in the early eighties. Well, now they have finally returned with turbocharging a spark ignition engine again, and what turbo concept have they used? The last generation of RX7 turbo also used this technology as well (but who cares, right?).

I still remember being at the 1991 Vienna Motor Symposium when audi was providing a technical overview of their then new 5 valve/cyl. 5 cylinder turbo engine that was launched in their S2 coupe. At the time, the Mercedes and BMW engine design reps laughed out loud, saying that they would never apply turbocharging to otto engines (spark ignition engines). Now, BMW has succumbed, Mercedes has not only introduced the turbo on the Maybach, but they also seem to be switching from supercharging to turbocharging altogether. Even Acura/Honda is using it now...
