Default Help please!...I've been hijacked...

my homepage has been hijacked by a website called mywebsearch.com or something like that...my homepage keeps changing to this site and a few popups...

I've already updated and ran Ad-Aware and Spybot...also I've already scanned the comp with CWShredder...it detects the hijack...it deletes it...but when I restart there it is again....

Please...computer freaks...help me out....

Try Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs -> Then uninstall "My Web Search"..
The my web search often has the name of the program it came with behind the name..
This at least uninstalls the toolbar, I can't remember if I used something else to get rid of that site

there's nothing strange on add/remove programs or related to mywebserach.com...

I've done this so far and still nothing....I turned off System Restore, scanned with Spybot, AdAware, CWShreder, SpySweeper...all programs seem to "fix" the problem...but then it appears again...even without restarting...

On the windows task manager, under the process tabs...it shows two IEXPLORE.EXE processes running, even without interet explorer open...if I end either one, it will just pop open again...

SpySweeper's Homepage shield keeps alerting me that my homepage has been changed...and asks me if I want to restore it...I accept it...and then a moment later it alerts me again about the homepage hijack...

I've also tried to running all this in safe mode...with the same resutls...

please help me...

Thanks

Have you recently installed any new software? It is possible it is bundled in there somewhere.

I am surprised CWShredder didn't help you, but another excellent program is PestPatrol. You need to buy it, but on the first sweep (even after CWShredder) It found a lot of unwanted things on my PC.

http://www.spyany.com/program/pestpatrol.htm

Also, what Anti Virus are you running? Is it up to date?

Lastly, watch what sites you visit. Some of the more "adult" sites hit you with all kinds of crap.

I run, PestPatrol once a week, run Spysweeper, MCafee Virus Scan and personal firewall and rarely have any problems.

Good Luck!
