It looks to me like that was a case of static electricity igniting the gas fumes.

I couldn't really tell whether she was smoking or sucking a lollipop. But that clearly wasn't the thing that sparked the fire. It was the static electricity from going and sitting back inside the car, etc. The only sound solution would be for women to take their shirts off when getting gas, to reduce static electricity in their sweaters and shirts and stuff. Hell, pop that bra off to just to be safe...

damnit, with a thread title like "BOOM!" I was hoping to see the car & pump blow the hell up :shock: but nope, just a fire....
would still be a scary situation, but i guess it just proves that gas tanks don't explode easily.
