Women and cars, eh ??
Well, she will have some trouble with the police after that trick. Running is never the option. That flaw looks pretty serious, it's dented and it will need a new layer of paint. Gonna be quite costly.
Keep us informed on what happens.

Sorry to hear that, Thamar, but at least you got her license number
My mate/boss at work (another englishman in TX) has a 2001 M3 convertible and he currently has similar damage to his car, scrape in front of the rear wheel and across the alloy. He's just been round to pick up my drill as he is going to try and buff the alloy and scraped bodywork out, and we hope the dent can be pulled out without paint. It was caused last monday while we were out to lunch, in a restaurant car park. All we know is it was a white car (from the paint marks). The cnuts didn't leave a note, probably thought he can afford to pay it himself. I hate people like that.

Oh my! Good thing she didn't hit you aswell. You can always fix a car, but you can't always fix a person.

Keep us updated Thamar, and remember to raise the fact that nearly being run over was very traumatic and you've had nightmares, etc etc...

That sucks. What possible reason would she have to run of? That's just stupid to do. Luckily you had here license plate and you know exactly which car she was driving in (the advantage of being a car nut ). Did you have any witnesses? That can really help to make your case.
A few weeks ago I had a same sort of experience, but less worse. I parked my car near the road in the late evening. During the time I was away, somebody must have run into my car. I didn't notice the damage, when I came back to the car, since it was already very dark. I found out about the damage the next day. Luckily only minor scratches on the rear bumper, but still it will need some minor paint work.
Lately I’ve heard more and more stories of hit and runs. I'm wondering why it happens a lot more these days than let's say 10 years ago.

And the money you get isn't worth the hassle.
Everyday you're in hospital you get 30€, everyday you're in treatment from the time you leave the hospital until treatment is over you get 20€.
And I don't like scamming the insurance companies. Because of all the scams, prices for insurance are now this high and they are constantly raising because of the scams...

Ah well, it was worth a try. It doesn't work in the UK either!
You're quite right about this sort of thing making insurance prices rise,my bad
When my Z3 got hit, I managed to get about $3000 as well as the repairs, as the resale value was affected - who wants to buy a $26000 car that's been hit? Nope, you'd just pass it by and go and look at the next one...
Having said that I had no trouble selling it after all.
