Default RIP John Lennon

on Thurs the 8th we was shot and killed out side is new york apt.

Strawberry Fields forever
Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me
Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right, that is I think it's not too bad

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

Always, no sometimes, think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream
I think I know I mean a "Yes" but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever

Imagine
Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

RIP

RIP to a masterful composer. With or without the Beatles, no one can deny his contribution to music, let alone rock.

Looking beyond his murder, i wonder if this is how it was supposed to be. Would he be the legend he is, if he had lived out his natural life? Does an early death truly elevate someone to legend status?

RIP to a man who made a difference.

I think if you are a member of the beatles then you are a legend,
Jimmy Page is a legend and he is still strong as is Plant

but there are plenty of people that like lennon just because of this fake image that they have in their head

but a early death will make you known and keep your name around.
hence why cobain killed him self @ 27 to be listed with hendrix, joplin and morrison, he knew he wouldn't last and that was the only way he would be listed on that list of "legends" but in my mind and many would agree he is nothing but a flash in the pan, and a poor musician

Now wait a second. Cobain isn't exactly Hendrix, but Nirvana is credited with giving rock a new kick in the ass, and at least within the city limits of Seattle, getting us back on the map musically.

I really don't agree that that's why Kurt died. I don't even agree that he killed himself.

Everything that has ever been documented about his thoughts about where he was, it shows he really didn't like what Nevermind did and where it put him in the spotlight. Fame was never on Kurt's mind. Now the whole "is he a true legend" argument could go on forever and i'd rather not take this from John, but i think Kurt does deserve to be where he is, along with Novaselic and Grohl.

I am sorry I have to disagree with that last statement

the beatles have been doing pot since 1960's in liverpool and germany.
John and George both started using LSD in late 1962 early 1963 (ringo in 1963) Paul was the last beatle to use LSD in 1964.

the beatles first heard Dylan's music in early 1964 (really early in Jan) and they met him in Aug. of that year.

and it is a noted fact that during the filming of "A Hard Day's Night" all the beatles all ran off and smoked up hiding from the producer for 2 days slowing production.
