Yes.......The PS3 will kick ass.

Also please note to everyone that I am in no way a fan boy of Sony as I have owned a Xbox 360 before. So Funk off.

Good Info..........

I already have 2 (60gig) PS3's on reserve............Ebay, here I come!
Naw not me, just some guy on another board. Like I stated at the end of post number 7 I just copied and pasted...which took me still over 20 mins because I was confused about how long of a post I could have so I had to split everything up.

Also another thing where did you preorder your PS3's from? I cant find anywhere near me in FL that accepts preorders yet! Some Gamestops and Ebgames they are only in Tampa and I think Miami.
Yeah, sorry for the delay. I preordered one PS3 at Sam Goody. I live in Louisiana by the way. But the one at Sam Goody was my first preorder and it is a bundle pack, and I only did it because I didnt want to pass it up.

I recently preordered one at F.Y.E. I was number 8 on the list so I should be guaranteed to get one. I dont know anybody else that is reserving them as of now
No problem dude. Also glad we have another person who likes golden eye.

Anyways Sam Goody only takes preorders at stores? No online? Same with FYE rite? I am probably gonna head out to the mall sometime soon need some new kicks and I will check out them stores then. Also the one at FTYE what did they say was included and what is the price? Also what is the price for the one at Sam Goody and whats included in the bundle pack?

BTW I am quite familiar with Shrevport. Have some uncle there and we stop by his place all the time when we go to TX.

Pimp just give ppl an idea on how Wii's 480p resolution relates to the 360 & PS3's ability to jack it up to 720p & 1080i. Done on an old 24" Dell 2405FPW LCD.

Very helpful image! thanks alot man for the extra help. Also it may not sound like alot of difference between 1080i and 1080p but it makes ALL the difference in the world!

Taken from Cnet

1. 1080p defined
1080p resolution--which equates to 1,920x1,080 pixels--is the latest HD Holy Grail. That's because 1080p monitors are theoretically capable of displaying every pixel of the highest-resolution HD broadcasts. On paper, they should offer more than twice the resolution of today's 1,280x720, or 720p, HDTVs, such as Samsung's HL-P5085W. Some companies, such as LG, refer to these super-high-res of sets as ultra-HD, while others prefer to substitute true or full for ultra.

2. Why 1080p is theoretically better than 1080i
1080i, the former king of the HDTV hill, actually boasts an identical 1,920x1,080 resolution but conveys the images in an interlaced format (the i in 1080i). In a tube-based television, otherwise known as a CRT, 1080i sources get "painted" on the screen sequentially: the odd-numbered lines of resolution appear on your screen first, followed by the even-numbered lines--all within 1/30 of a second. Progressive-scan formats such as 480p, 720p, and 1080p convey all of the lines of resolution sequentially in a single pass, which makes for a smoother, cleaner image, especially with sports and other motion-intensive content. As opposed to tubes, microdisplays (DLP, LCoS, and LCD rear-projection) and other fixed-pixel TVs, including plasma and LCD flat-panel, are inherently progressive in nature, so when the incoming source is interlaced, as 1080i is, they convert it to progressive scan for display.

On paper the 360 can only go up to 1080i but according to ATI reps it's GPU can output 1080p. They just didnt publish it because there were very very few displays that can do 1080p at announcement & most people wouldnt know what 1080p means. Doesnt benefit MS any to confuse people.

Sony on the other hand probably timed the 1080p spec for the PS3 to coincide with their HD display efforts. It benefits them to hype up 1080p as the holy grail.

IIRC the PS3 will only allow 1080p on a HDMI-spec'd displays and these displays are coming out just now.

All these graphics grunt is for not if you're still using a 5+ year old regular TV.

That's why I went for an EDTV (standard def TV + 480p) for the pscan DVD player & GCN) cause there was no local or recorded content in HD at the time.

Well there is also the regular Input so you can hook it up to a regular TV. Also My TV that I shall be getting for my room will probably be a standard TV unless my dad changes his mind but the TV in the living room will be the TV of my choice and I am currently leaning on a Samsung 50 inch with HDMI and 1080p and some other shit but I gotta look around some other places first.

*EDIT*

Also I bet the PS3 games will look very shitty on a regular TV. I say this because I had a 360 and Played PGR and it looked shitty sorta and then I go to my cousins house and play COD 2 I think it was and PGR and it looks ALOT BETTER!

All three consoles will look pretty much the same on a regular TV with some subtle differences. I got the 360 hooked up the EDTV and it's pretty good but attached to the 19" VGA LCD and it looked way way better.

Yeah no doubt on regular TV that shit will look the same. As long as its a LCD or Plasma or HD it you will get at least a bit more better looks wise. I saw a pic of GT4 on regular TV then on a 1080p TV and that looked just stunning!

Also I think the 360 can have 1080p since GT4 on the PS2 had 1080p and it isnt even a next gen console! They just probably have to code it or sum shit.

I swear Crytek has said Crysis is PC exclusive. The closest thing I came to finding otherwise is here

It was 1080i, and it wasn't even really 'true' 1080i.

Yeah thats what I thought too! Until I saw a few sites saying they want developers for the 360 and PS3.
Dont believe me still? GO to their main website and go click on jobs or careere or whatever and then click on graphic programmer or anything and they will state that they want people who can work for them to make a PS3 and 360 version!

Yeah it wasnt "true" 1080 but it was still pretty close and badass!

The programers who did GT4's 1080i should be congratulated for being able to hurdle the 480p hardware limit. I'm curious how they were able to do 1080i on a PS2 whsoe hardware was far worse than a GCN.
