5th gen Z28 dead on arrival?
Well, that's what Leftlane News says anyway. I don't recall them ever being terrible reliable for scoops,, but we'll see.
http://www.leftlanenews.com/camaro-w...8-is-dead.html
Also, I never liked the idea of the Z28 being the "top of the line" horsepower model. That distinction should go to the SS while the Z28 should focus on light weight high revving corner carving like it did in 67-69 (and other years too.)

It's already been discussed at 5thgen.org a bit . . .
http://www.5thgen.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6833
I only skimmed it, but I didn't find anything terribly insightful.

Eh... The top of the line car has almost always been made by tuners. I fully expect that to happen again.
The LT5 version was a SLP.. As was the SS and WS6.

SS is still slated to receive the LSA, Z28 as a name may not be revived... but I'm not keen on that. I'll ask somebody who knows about it...

Don't they have a cheaper 5.3 litre iron block planned as well that would make something less than the base LS engine?

I doubt any Iron blocks will be in the Camaro.... there are rumors of a v8 hybrid in the works.... and a heavy iron engine wouldn't make sense with that...

I sincerly doubt there will be an iron block in the camaro as well. The fbodies and vettes havent had an iron block since 97. I suspect that would be a step backward.
