I have Oakley frames, coincidentally.

Astigmatism shouldn't be a major barrier to getting contacts. My mother has high astigmatism and she wore contacts for many years, back in the early days of contacts.

Hahaha, I've been wearing glasses since I was 12 or 13 years old. Happened one day in class, "Umm, shit I can't see the black board from the back of the class." That was after the teacher had us rotate seats.

Since then I also started wearing contacts because of sports. Contact lenses aren't so bad. In fact you could get the one or two week disposible ones for cheap now. And there isn't too much maintenance on them, just throw them out after two weeks. I got the monthly ones now, a bit cheaper. You just gotta make sure you wash your hands with soap before taking them off or putting them on.

But the reason why I had to wear glass was because of the computer. Got my 386 and was on it for hours each day, playing games and doing text games. Didn't have the internet in those days, or we were too cheap to have an ISP.

Recommendation wise, get some Titanium frames, so at least they are light. And get some contacts and you could switch them back and forth.
