The Kursk an Akula class (Typhoon)
The Kursk was an attack submarine belonging to Oscar II Class
http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/russia/theater/949.htm

Akula class is something different
http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/ship/row/rus/971.htm

And Typhoon an ICBM carrier:

You really mixed them badly

Yeah your right it's in fact an Oscar II Class submarine, thanks to have indicated. I looked too quickly his silhouette in the Max Power video preview. However that doesn't change anything of what I said, because these two submarines are built on the same principle (multi-hulled) and in more of being assembled on the same place at Sevmash shipyard in Severodvinsk.

Not the conspiracy story but the full story of the Kursk itself.

It was indeed an interesting documentary even if of course we'll never know what really happened in the Barents sea...
