Dear Customer,

Thank you for ordering from our internet shop. If you paid with a credit card,
the charge on your statement will be from name of our shop.

This email is to confirm the receipt of your order. Please do not reply as this
email was sent from our automated confirmation system.

PDF (Portable Document Format) files are created by Adobe Acrobat software and

This is the second time i've recieved this in my email. The sender is info@(insert major store here).com

The first one i got was from TechDepot.com which is a sister company of Office Depot. The one i just got in my junk mail folder was from walmart.com.

I checked the order number on the first one and it came back as invalid and a check with my CC company reveals that no charge was made (which is good because the cost of the vaio is more than my limit anyway)

I have a feeling the self executing PDF contains a trojan or a worm or something that will allow personal info to be mined from your computer.

If you stop and think about the format this email is in, it should be sending up red flags right away.

First off, if you order something online, the email you get sent either has a company graphic on it, and they use your name. Not Dear Customer.

second of all, there is no way to contact them. Highly unusual for a business email.

Third, most companies will give you the last 4 digits of the card used.

Keep an eye out for this one. Do not open it if you get it, even though Hotmail is blocking the PDF from opening, i can't be sure about other providers.

Thank you mate, one of the thing that distinguishes scam to real order (but it's not the only thing to take care) is that when you place an order, the company usually (not always ?? ) send a mail with your real name and surname ... not "Dear customer".

that was mentioned in point one.

there is also the fact that it doesn't say how you paid. Which is not like any online retailer i've ever seen.

that's what the PDF.EXE file is for. It's supposed to self extract and DL the virus. so while you're scratching your head wondering wtf is this about, the virus is setting up shop.

I'm in debt but only $500 you sound like you went the credit card limit lol

Now if your talking about school payment debt well I'm still working on that
My credit cards suck right now, partially due to moving, but my SnapOn account is just as bad. Then there's my school loans, which isn't horrible when compared to what my g/f is facing by the time she's done
