Default New JoB!

*EXCITEMENT*

I have been fortunate enough for Dow Chemical to offer me an Improvment Engineering position in LA when I graduate (May 07). I cant help but be happy because I can finnaly buy a car that I want. YAY

Anybody got some suggestions on what cars I should think about. I need help cause I got too many in my head.

Conditions:
Can be 2-Door, but need 4 seats
Must be rear wheel drive
Must be a solid performer (speed/handling)
Must be a manual - unless I can find an awsome deal on a AMG car
Nothing that everybody and their mom has......aka mustang - unless its a GT500
No more than $45,000 (MAXIMUM!!!)

HELP!!

Used M3? 330ci? Why RWD only?

Congratulations on your job, by the way. 8)

I'd go for ANY M3, doesn't matter if it's E36, or E46 (ofcourse E46 would go best)

Have either of you 2 even seen a CTS-V in the flesh let alone driven one?

For $34,000 a 2004/2005 CTS-V is basically the best value high performance sedan on the market in the US.

The car is brutally fast, handles very well, and is agressively styled and is a true stick shift RWD V8.

Having done a back to back comparison with the CTS-V vs Acura TL, BMW 540/M5 and MB E Series, it is just as good.

What other car in the mid $30,000 range even comes close?

Ley's see some objective criticism of the car.

An aspiring chemical engineer should drive a car with more class. Go for a used M3.

I'd go for M3 myself probably. For US maybe CTS-V is a good choice have seen one in flesh in the show room but had NO desiger to even stop by to get a look at it or get in it :bah: maybe a testdrive could change that.

yep, seen one on the ring, but can't honestly compare (haven't been sitting in it), just what I heard from our US Hater (JC)
I believe it's just a bargain compared to the M3, but I'd rather pay for that little blue/white badge anytime

Get a Pontiac GTO if you want value for money. If it's the same thing as the Monaro, it'll be good.
