Default School computer systems

Right my problem is, after a good few months of occasionally logging on to JW, the schools administrators have finally cought up with me - and the site has been blocked. It happens all the time with game sites that loads of people go on - someone will find a game - everyone will play it and then the mods will twig on, and the site will be blocked, its like a game of cat and mouse

They have screen watchers - so they can see everything we do, but if i can at least get access at school again for a few weeks, that will be better than nothing!

Does anyone know a way of getting round the system????
They have blocked www.jabbasworld.net - is there a mirror of the site anywhere under a different name???

This could be fruitless but it is worth a go. Ta.

That sucks Tom

We get the exact same problem in my school. They also log every page we visit, and if a site is getting hammered, they block it. We can get the ban lifted if it is absolutely necessary, like as schools e-mail is down, hotmail is unblocked to let us send work in etc

What a pain in the ass. My school is on a 30MB satellite connection, so downloads are really quick, but i never go on the PCs at skool.

I hope one of the mirrors works for you Tom

Lol, the network is actually dead there, don't know how they managed to crash 150+ computers
They've got a 1MB connexion for all the pupil's computers, about 100
And for the few times we can access them, we don't have such problems, they just had to delete WinPopup 2 years ago

LOL.... we have around 1000 computers (just in the senior school), including those for admin/secretaries/teachers/students etc... There are rarely times when the connection is stressed to the point of the net being too slow

Also, about half of these PC's are never shut down, so i guess i could log-on at the end of the day and set up loads of d/loading.

lol, thanks for all the suggestions. It was really funny today - me and a mate were playing on this game ont he computer. Anuway after about 5 minutes the screen just suddenly changed to the usual black "Hanson school blocked website" screen. So we kinda knew they must have been watching exactly what we were doing. Then the game of cat and mouse started - we put the name of the game in on googel,a dn managed to get about 2-3 minutes worth of play on each one. Each page would eventually get banned whilst you were on it, and we just searched for another mirror of the game! We kept writing stuff in the adress bar such as - 'come on, its only a game for god's sake' and 'hahah - funny guys' when they managed to ban it within 1 minute of us going on the site! We carried on, and were on the game again, when the page started refreshing even though we werent doing anything. then the computer just logged itself off!!

Big Brother is always watching eh!?

If you can mess around with the settings on internet explorer, you can connect using proxy.

dw, i have a way that would work on ym school networks.

and like you i was OFTERN monitored at school

go to http://www.google.com.au/language_tools?hl=en and enter jabbasworld.net as the page to be translated, just select "anylanuage > english" and it should go through google web site, it would oftern work at my school for porn, or anyother site that has been blocked.
