Default My ride in an F50! (pics/vids)

Oh what a day I had!!!!!!!!!

The Ferrari Club of Australia is having its annual National Rally and this year it is in Perth.

One of the cars which turned up from Melbourne was a yellow F50 - and at the end of the day I was taken for a ride in it!

The owner is a really nice and generous guy, spending alot of time during the day telling me about the car. I got to look at all the accessories, like the driving boots, photos and manuals etc.

I was happy enough to just sit in it, but later he said he'd take me for a spin.

It lasted for about 10-15 mins, with a couple of hard accelerations. We were on fairly busy public roads so no crazy stuff - but more than enough to put a huge smile on my face.

The noise is just insane, at idle/low revs its all cam noise - but above 4000rpm you get that F1 shriek.

I've been lucky enough to ride in some awesome cars so far - but this one tops the list. I've always admired the F50 so today will be special for me for a long time.

(Full report from the event with high-res pics later in the week)

Here is the beast in question:

Some videos:

and a couple from on-board:

Back to the pics, on the road now

Straight after the ride in the F50 I drove home in the WRX - didn't feel as special as it did before the F50 experience. :bah:

I'll send you the vids on MSN, maybe later tonight.

No, the current owner has had this one for a few months now. It was bought from MM in Melbourne though.

Yeah they are rare, only 31 were produced in yellow - and this is the only such one in Australia (the rest here are all red).
