I did initially think to myself, "I can get my trailer off the truck in about two minutes, throw this guy my bow & stern lines to tie off on the car's frame and drag the vette out of the water'". But then I considered the likelihood that I might also damage his car in the process and be held liable or at the very least need to invest in an attourney to defend my actions.
That's America for you.

Also notice the guy on the pier, leaning with his arm on the pole.

Oh man, I cant even begin to think of what would I have done in his place. That must really have hurt him unless he is rich enough to afford anotherone of those w/o problem. I would really be sad and would not be able to sleep for the next 3 days at least.

That hits pretty close to home, my girlfriend's older brother has a Yellow 2002 Corvette, and he very nearly did exactly the same thing when I went sailing with them earlier this year...fortunately he stopped before the rear end of the car started to rise though. Poor guy...I think I'd die if that happened to my car.
