Paypal has many detractors for sure, but all those people should maybe invest their time in creating another method to send money so fast and easily as Paypal does
I use it very often, of course I'm pissed off at their charges every now and then, but hell, it's a service you have to pay for a service usually

Yeah, I got this one too. Paypal does have it's downpoints, but for right now, and it's connections with e-bay, it's the most convenient world wide money transfer system we have. I deleted the lawsuit email as well. Just because 43 cents doesn't really help me, and because it'll probably take a few years to collect. Oh well, just going to have to deal with Paypal till something beter comes along. I still like it for the most part though.

Dude if you will read their policies you will see there is like a 30 cents or so, minimum charge for EVERY transaction, + the %age that change with the amount you send.. so obviously if you send a single dollar, it will seems outrageous
It still isn't cheap, here are some of the last payment we received:
171 € sent toward us, 7.02 kept by Paypal
231 $, 9 kept by them
420 $, 16 kept by them
again, it is quite high, but a Money Order wouldn't be that much cheaper and anyway longer to do while Paypa is a simply click

actually its free if you send from a direct bank withdrawl. it costs money when the payer sends from a credit card.

Well if the receiver has a premium account as we have, you ALWAYS pay, no matter if the money is sent from the balance, a cc or bank and you need a premium account to be able to receive cc payments, so I'm sure it's more common than the regular one

There are other alternatives you paypal which are used more readily then paypal currently in other industrys besides eBay like Firepay www.firepay.com
Paypal is a great service and thus some charges should be imposed like TT explains, I guess if people start switching there payment options to other services on eBay perhaps paypal will lose its grip on the online auction market.
