Default Aussie Day Drive - Ferrari, Porsche, Alpina, Lotus...

Last Thursday was Australia Day and like every year the Ferrari and Porsche Clubs combine to have a drive together. However being a public holiday means alot of members spend time with the family and therefore the turnout isn't so good. :bah:

I went with my friend in the Elise (actually a member of the club, even without a Ferrari yet) - he plans to get a 355/360 or Diablo soon.

We headed north as all the police were in the city keeping people in control for the firework celebrations - so we had nice open roads and no cops. :good:

All 41 high-res pics can be viewed on my website  www.ozcarsightings.com

My ride for the day....

360 Spider, still sent shivers down my spine everytime he accelerated!

330 GTC, just recently arrived in Perth from over east.

That sexy black bumperless Dino.

993 Carrera S, unfortunately he ended up backwards in the dirt after taking a bend too fast. It took about 10 of us pushing to get him back on the road, luckily with only minor damage.

996 Carrera Cab

And the only Alpina B10 3.5 in Perth, quite suprised to see it turn up.

Well, not a major event maybe, but the 330 is to die for and would have been worth the trip! I also love the Alpina beeing something you don't see every day and those sunny pics are just so nice to see while here we have our cold winter

Wow, a bumperless Dino looks so different compared to a usual Dino. I didn't expect that. It looks just great. Something you can't tell about the flachbau 964 Cabrio. First of all I'm not really a fan of those flachbau's and secondly a 3.8 RS wing looks out of place on a Cabrio. But it's rare.

The Alpina B10 is rare as well, great catch and the 330 is to die for. It prolly also sounded superb The 993 Carrera S owner is lucky he didn't hit a tree! Very nice car though. In short, there may not have been 100's of cars but you came back with some great pics!

It sure did, I love the sound of the classic V12's.

I actually had a ride in the blue 365 GT 2+2 a couple of weeks back (no pics so I didn't mention it), and we went through a tunnel a couple of times. The sound when he lifted off was amazing, lots of popping and crackling.

LOL about the shot of the mirror of the Elise!

Excellent shots and some really nice cars! My personal favourites are the blue 308, the 330 GTC and the Maserati (Mexico?). Funny, all blue cars.
