Default Race weekend in Vancouver (Ferrari 456, Lambo gallardo)

Here are some cars i saw over the weekend. There was a champ car race in vancouver, but i didn't go so no pics of that. This was a really good weekend since i got pics of two good cars down below (456 and gallardo) and saw a few Ferrari 360's, and tons of sl's m5's and m3's. This was a really rare weekend cause the only time i've seen more not at a car show was in the netherlands when i saw a lotus racing a ferrari 355 and at the beach an aston martin db7 ( a kid dropped his bike against it...owner freaked).

The photo quality maybe a bit bad.

Cobra

Honda civic with a Mitsu. lancer style spoiler. I thinks it looks ok, but it's still a civic.

Sl 500. one of the few i saw.

porsche 911 turbo

Bmw 6 series

porsche cayenne turbo S

Don't really know what this is but i think it's a london taxi thing, i believe there was something like this in the gumball. This car is not sold here to my knowledge.

Bmw 3 series modified

Stype very wrong

Dodge ram jacked up. Pretty useless to have. A little blurry throught the window.

Mercedes sl55 amg with chrome rims. Again through the windshield.

Bmw M3. It has really fat rear tires if you can see them.

Honda or acura NSX maybe a type-R

Ferrari 456 No license plate, just the plate saying ferrari of beverly hills

Lamborghini Gallardo

Only one word to describe those: RICE!

The rest, however, were nice. 8) ...except for that London Taxi car thingy. :fist:

That BMW sucks. Why would someone do that to a BMW?

I have a question for either vexor or sunsetncars.
Where exactly is the street course for the Molson Indy located, which streets (names) is it run on?
I was in Vancouver last December and I recognised the GM and BC Place stadiums in the background during the TV coverage so I have a rough idea where it is but would like more detail.
Thanks.

and The S-Type BMW 318i.....NICE!...............ops......rrr....I mean RICE!!

looks like a kit Cobra. Maybe SuperPerformance or something. The Beemer was just wrong. And its great to see that some people from Oshawa made it out to Vancouver for the race with their lightly modded Dodge. And if anyone reads the Toronto Star, please check this out.

It might be the greatest article ever. If you want to know where the stupid trucker hats made their comback this article is for you.

the cobra is most likely a replica because of it's wheel design. I think that on a real cobra there is the Ac logo on the wheels. Here are some pics of cobra wheels on real AC cars.

New Cobras

others...

They cobra wheel is basicly kinda like a blender blade.

I didn't go to the race but i was in the area eating at a "fast food restaurant". I decided it be nice to see whats happening outside so the closest corner to where i was, was corner 6 on the track picture above (i think) there were a few layers of tires and i was lucky to come out right when j. wilson's car spun out . i saw the champ car crew push it out.

I hope the owner of that bmw gets some sense knocked into him so they can remove those ridiculous stuff. I've been seeing it around town lately too, so if i meet them i'll talk to them to see why they did that.

You can't really use the wheels of racing Cobra 289's or 427's of the day as the sole detail to verify autheticity - the reason being that many cars may have used 3 blade knock-offs or 2-blade knock offs without spokes.

Thanks alot altezza, exactly what I was after. When I was there I didn't realise the race was run over the same streets I was walking on. I should have gone at a different time of the year so I could watch the race, but then it wouldn't be snowing and the NHL is in the offseason.
