Default Pistonheads Vmax

Hi chaps - not been around much recently due to work commitments. Just posting up to say that you should take a look at the vmax forum on pistonheads over the next few days as the vids and photos get posted from today's event.

I've not done a vmax meet before, but i will definitly do another in the future - the turnout was awesome - 550 x 3, 575, murcielago, 350 x3, lots of porsches including Ruf R-GT2, GT3-RS etc as well as the obligatory tvr's and nobles and for the first time we managed to get a few esprits there - my V8-GT, an S4s owned by my mate adam plus a Esprit GT3 (patrick).

The esprit ran great all day - running consistent 163-165 mph thru the speed traps. It would go faster given a longer straight but hey, i'm still very happy with that. The S4s managed 155 and the esprit GT3 150.

I didn't see the timesheets before i left but i'm guessing either the ruf or the SL65AMG would be top of the charts

All very nice stuff. I was really Impressed with the turnout they got for that. We dont have anything nearly that cool here in america. All the car shows around here only have old ass hot rods and show cars with a few harleys thrown in for good messure
I would kill for a show like THIS one

That looked like a great event!
Some mouth-watering machinery there; was accel timed as well?
Any video shot on the day? Would be fantastic to see.
Very cool car rob_e1, pretty impressive top end, and well it's a Lotus. 8)
Nice to see the SL65 in red; very nice!

There were a lot of people videoing... so look out on the pisonheads vmax forum, however ph seems to be down today...

Here's a short clip of my esprit v8-gt with another esprit S4s:

right click, save as

No, there was no acceleration timing - only a top speed laser trap.

Yeah, its a shame, but you can see why - with 40 or so cars, most with at least one passenger plus the organisers you've got close to 100 people already. Thats a lot of people to manage - remember this is just an old airfield so no facilities to speak of.
