Jay Leno on his Turbine bike.
I remember seeing the episode on one of the Motorcycle shows on SPEED.

Thanx for the vid.
That is awesome! They make those bikes down my way, in Louisiana. They had an article about the company in our newspaper once. They use helicopter turbines, which make around 300hp and return 15mpg (on a motorcycle!). It's supposed to have a topspeed of ~250mph. They also said the acceleration, and it was crazy, like 0-200mph in less than 20 sec.
The company also makes boats with turbines in them...

exactly how did anyone manage to fit a turbine engine into the torso of a bike AND a fuel tank and other necessary intestines of a bike?

if you look its really long and the turbine doesn't have to be huge. most of th einternals are part of the engine

I don't have any other videos of this bike. Jay said that it's pretty heavy, compared to a regular sport bike. The engine is not that big, really. A turboshaft engine in a jet helicopter like an MD-500 or a JetRanger is actually quite compact. They only weigh about 400 lbs. Now the gearbox transfer assembly, I can't remember how they made that.
