I have a Porsche Performance Chip in the Porsche. It helped alot in terms of power and gas milage. Just remember that this isnt something to cheap out on, if your gonna do it, do it right and get the right part.

Dingo-It depends on the chip and the car as to wether or not you need a Dyno tune. My car didnt need a tune, but thats because the motor isnt a high strung motor like in the Evo or WRX. A dyno tune wouldnt hurt, but in my car it wasnt nessesary.

NO POWERBOX!, make sure you get a proper programming/replacement of the chip.
We chipped our old Seat Alahambra 1,9TDI (org 110hp) turned out 145whp after. Got a good reduction in fuel consumption as well.

The Q7 is also getting a Superchips chip as soon as it passes 15.000km.

I put an Garrett Chip on my previous B5 Audi A4 1.8T, it given me excellent performance with my K04 turbocharged that I installed. It's obvious that I recommend it for some turbocharged cars.

If you want to go further whit engine tuning/building then you better get a stand alone ecu.

Orcourse rc45 you could do that.
I would go for motec or autronic or pectel or gems.
These brands are the best for stand alone ecu.

I would get a custom mod.. I dont like the idea of a pre speced chip.. Each car has minor differences even from factory.. It simply can't be as good as a custom option.

Otherwise yes I would.. but Id try to keep the standard tune handy if your warrentee is still good.

I thought about getting the Split Second boost controller for my Audi over a chip due to the fact that I could change the amount of boost as opposed to being stuck with high boost. I may still get it, but I don't expect my A4 to become a race car anytime soon without dumping tons of cash into it, which I don't want to do LOL

Like the motronic in my Audi you mean.....

Its basicly the same as a motec or simular, it seems like there are alot of simular things here....
Well, if out of the box - boe stock - as delivered from the dealer - your Audi allows custom fuel mapping, ignition timing, rev limiter, torque management and other things to be adjusted and tuned to the nth degree - then yes.

I have chipped both the Ibiza with a Revo and the BMW with the ESS chip. The Ibiza after a 1st stage upgrade provided 124bhp which is an increase of 20bhp. The Revo makes the car to respond a liiiittle bit more aggressive (Ibiza like all the VW group cars have electric pedal) which is was primarily the reason for putting it.
As for the BMW the chiping was essential after installing ESS s/c.
So yeah, I d say that if the chip is a well known and tested one then yeah why not?
