Default Official: 2008 Audi RS6 Revealed!

Avant:

Link:
http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2007/09...-revealed.html

Just as we got off the phone speaking with a source of ours about the RS6, we opened up Jalopnik’s page and voila; the Audi RS6 Avant! And boy does it look hot… We’re not entirely sure if this a leak since the Audi RS6 is supposed to be officially unveiled on Sept. 5 (it could be from a European or Australian site for example), but we don’t mind at all.

So along with the official pictures here’s the “unofficially – official” info that we gathered: the RS6 is equipped with a Biturbo 5.0-litre V10 that delivers 580 Hp and it sprints from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4,6 seconds –we forgot to ask whether this time is for the Avant or the Saloon. It’s worth mentioning that a reader of Carscoop (who asked to remain anonymous), fell spot on with the information he sent us back in the first week of August –check it out by clicking here. We’ll have more on the RS6 as soon as Audi come out with official announcement.
Notice the registration plate... RS600 (600hp?)

The new Audi C6 RS6 is completely awesome !

The final result looks exactly the same of what was posted in the RS6 spy pix topic...that's a really good news.

^^^^No, the sedan and the Avant will be unveiled at the same time at the IAA Frankfurt 2008 next week.

You can see the sedan here: http://www.motorworld.net/forum/show...44026&start=20

EDIT: The last news said the sedan will come later after the Avant model.

Finally! So far I like the interior more then exterior, and 580hp does sound very good.

thanx for the pics.

nice horsepower figure, but goddamn! it weighs 2025 kg, the old rs6 avant weighed 1865 kg...im thinking the sedan version will only be slightly lighter...it's an obese car weighing as much as an SUV. but looking at the rs4 and r8 i'm sure it'll have some good performance, and i'm sure it'll be faster than the m5 and e63 amg in a straight line.

What's the point with a V10 biturbo that's not actually faster to 100km/h than an C/E63T AMG or M5 touring. They should work on the weight or up the power even more. new cars are supposed to up the ante. Looks nice though.

Brilliant, I just love it - especially the arches, which are reminders of the Ur-Quattro.
Wonder if this engine will ever get into the R8 or even better the Gallardo...

This thing is a mastodont!!

This is the only Audi I would pick over a BMW from the same category (in this case the M5 Touring). How much I like BMW's concept of RWD and high revving NA engines, I don't think it fits a car like this. IMO heavy estate cars like this should have massive low down torque to match, so in this case I'm saying Biturbo V10power and AWD for the win!

This looks brilliant, although I am somewhat perturbed that Audi have deemed it unnecessary to install a handbrake in the car.
