Germany World cup 2006
It is strange that none of the JW's members that like and looove football (not soccer ) haven't posted something more about the World Cup
So, until now only one result that was a real surprise, Ecuador 2-0 Poland That result made a lot of ppl loose some money... like me!
the game was entertaining while I was eating.
Germany had some troubles with Costa Rica, but then CR was easy as a pie. Not a bad game, but it could get better.
sweden vs Trinidad & Tobago, didn't see it all the 90 minutes, but I was bored the whole 15 minutes I saw.
right now Argentina is winning 2-0 vs Cote d'Ivoir in a really entertaining game. Those "ches" sure look to be at the top 6 in this world cup.
I'm really expecting to see tomorrow's game: Netherlands vs Serbia& Montenegro Go NL!!!
and... Mexico, I hope they win against Iran, but it won't be an easy game
So... how do you see France and Spain? countries which have dissapointed a LOT.
any more comments?
no? then I'll postwhore here

thx for the support for NL 8) and T&T totally ROCKED i loved it, their (fans' )response when the game ended 0-0 was awesome, and the swede's response was LOL
i think the netherlands should be able to beat serbia montenegro (BTW, would this be the first time a no longer existing state is represented in the world championship?? ), but i dont see NL getting further than the quarter / semi finals... i wouldnt mind seeing brazil win (OR T&T ofcourse )

Pfoh, with Cisse hurt during the match vs China (he won't be able to play for the next 5 months) and some "old" players (world champions in 98 but hell, that was 8 years ago  ) ... seeing them in the second round would already be a nice achievement compared to the last disaster in 2002 :bah:
The Netherlands have always had a nice team but never made it to the final since 1978; who knows ...

NL was my choice when I saw Marco Van Basten, Gulliut, etc etc play. That was a great NL team. Because countries where our teams will never reach the finals, have a favorite, you imagine Brazil, Argentina, Italy, France and other couple big teams, being the favorites of lots and lots of ppl
also it's funny to see S&M play when that country no longer exists with that name but it is a dangerous team. All those balcanic countries can win over any european country and then loose against mediocre team
And with T&T it was a big surprise. I've just seen the match's resume and the red card... wasn't Leo Benhakker has really worked a lot with that poor guys,

I don't see France at semi, the base team is getting old. Zidane hasn't been in the required rythm in the last year. The rest of the team isn't the best in the last years
Also, Argentina has won 2-1 against Ivory Coast. good game, but again those hateful argentinian tactics appeared and in the first game

so... what do you think about these first matches?
i liked NL's game strategy, but at the second time they only wanted to have the ball. S&M started to attack and looked dangerous.
in a few minutes mexico vs iran... and I have my doubts with mexico. my guess... 1-0 mexico, or even a draw

The only one I started to see was the one that ended 0 - 0 so that took away my curiosity for the rest of the day lol.

Portugal with a win over Angola, which is no suprise but only 1-0. From a big nation like Protugal, they should have run over Angola..
Tomorrow, USA vs Czech rep. Of course, USA will get their asses handed to them on a silver plate... or what do you say RC?
