Default Sep 30 - 50+ Ferraris

Last sunday, there was a Ferrari concours event sponsored by Valobra Jewelers (the same guy is co-sponsor for the famous Ferrari French Quarter Classic event).

I took my 348 for the show. It took me about 3 hours to get rid of the bugs and stones and other crap of my car after the backwoods drive with RC. I did a wash & wax but didn't go overboard like some owners.

This was the biggest turnout of Ferraris in Houston - I am guessing around 50 cars comprising: 308, 328s, BBi, TRs, 512TR, Mondials, 348s, 348 Competizione, 355s, 360s, CS, 430s, 599, F40s, Enzo. The classic set was represented by Dino, 330 GTC, 340 America (Jeff's car), Lusso, Daytonas.

It was a blisteringly hot day and I came back looking like ripe tomato. But it was fun seeing the old cars and participating in such shows as long as you can combine it with some driving as well (thanks RC).

340 America --> Was judged to be best of show

I picked it because it doesnt give any errors while uploading unlike Imageshack. Didn't see the thumbs myself and was shocked to see the porn links.

I guess some of you saw only one or two thmbs and then went to the good stuff inside

The white BB is part of a collection - the other cars that I know of are: Red F40, Blue Lusso, Black Daytona (all part of this show) and another gem - a SWB I believe. The guy is new to Ferraris and has done a good job so far don't you think 8)

LOL at the pic hosting site you used! I look at your nice pictures and above them I have to see a picture of "sugarbabe" or "ladyloving" hahahahah. Why not use imagevenue? They seem to work pretty well for me.

Anyways, aside for the sketchy pic hosting site, awesome pics and great collection of cars! I really like the F40 pics. 8) Thanks for the pics sameerrao.

BTW, loving racing as you do, especially when it's related with the prancing horse... haven't you thought about converting your 348 into a Competizione or Challenge or whatever is called? I guess the targa roof is a bit of a problem here but...
Mine too!

I was drooling over the Competizione. The 348 Challenge car is not very different (in street form) from a regular 348 but the Competizione is something else.:shocked!:

It sounded really wild when it started up - it has straight pipes (de-catted) and not muffler. It was really loud. The other thing was that the engine picked up revs like a motorbike - really quick as if it had no flywheel. The car puts up 400bhp (which is like a 90 bhp increase over the regular tb/ts). It revs to something like 7500 rpm - so the engineers didnt use a major rpm increase to get more power. Also the intake hardware looks pretty much the same. I think a couple guys were speculating that must have a race cam on it. It loped like RC's car. The engine is a race motor though - I dont know how steetable it is in the current incarnation

I would love to take the seats, CF bumpers (f/r), cam, lightweight wheels, some of the engine mods, tubi and hyperflow exhausts. Some or all of these are in my intended upgrade path but it will take time for me to earn the necessary cash to disburse on such additions.
