Default Taskbar in XP Pro

I just had my computer reformatted and now my volume control is no longer next to my clock where it used to be how do i add volume control to this toolbar???

this is weird.....
maybe if u go to the control panel and open the audio thing there will b an option thet tells u if u want to put it on the taskbar,

simple right click on the taskbar and go to properties then in the taskbar tab there will be a customize button at the bottom right click it and then there is a list of available icons to put down there or just click restore default and that should work.

So if you look in the Control Panel under "Sounds and Audio Devices" the option to have it displayed is checked there but it still isn't showing up?

You're also sure the icon didn't make it into the "Hide Inactive Icons" list in the taskbar properties?
