Default Autosfeer cartestday (Quattroporte,XJR)

summary:
My dad drove a Maserati Quattroporté, a Chrysler 300C 3.5, a Jaguar S 2.7D and a BMW 330i E90.
I drove a Chrysler 300C 2.7, Mercedes C230, Mercedes E320CDi and a Caddilac STS 3.6.

Some of you might remember this post:
http://www.motorworld.net/forum/show...ight=autosfeer

Well last Saturday there was another one of these testing days. This time the cars were “berlines & breaks”. So I expected a lot of Renault Laguna’s, Ford Mondeo’s and others. But was I surprised when I saw what cars were there. The most spectacular were the Jaguar XJR, Caddilac CTS-V, Chrysler 300C 5.7 and certainly the Maserati Quattroporté.

I took some pics and made a few digicam movies. The camera is pretty crappy so the quality isn’t that good and the movies are without sound so probably not worth posting.

I don’t have the time now to explain in full what I thought about the cars that I’ve driven, but I’ll describe them in a few key words.

- Maserati Quattroporté: superb sound, great looking car in the metal.
- Chrysler 300C 3.5: behaves like a tank along to my dad, I tought it felt heavy but brakes and suspension aren’t too bad.
- Jaguar S 2.7D: luxery car, superb ride, great engine.
- BMW 330i E90: the total package = really good.
- Mercedes C230: smooth engine, good ride, slow automatic
- Mercedes E320CDi: slow automatic, masses of torque, superbly luxurious (had those seats that tighten in the corners like an M5)
- Caddilac STS 3.6: very powerfull engine in low and mid range, top end almost non existent. Good ride, really really shitty brakes.

The cars that were present (shitty quality shots I know):

Chrysler 300C's:

Alfa 159:

Quattroporte:

XJR:

Caddi's:

The rest:

Thanks 1zippo1 for the road test report and for the pictures too.

: This Alfa 159 is the second car from Alfa Romeo brand which I like with the Alfa 164 S.
In black color this Alfa 159 looks superb !!

It's interesting to see that you have in Europe a Station Wagon from the 300 C. In North America this car it's called Dodge Magnum and the front fascia is a bit different.

I hope for you that you will be able to test drive the Cadillac CTS-V series because this car is a very nice sport sedan. I drove this car 3 times and I can affirm to you this car is definitively a true M5 killer. I mean a E39 M5 killer, never an E60.

Yeah I liked the black 159 too. Despite I'm not a big fan of the design of this new 159 I think this is the coolest one I've seen so far 8)

IMO, one of the best-looking sedans ever made
You're right but it was the first time I saw a black Alfa 159 and I've already seen all the other cars before.

I saw a Quattroporte parked some days ago and it looked much better than in the photos. Very good looking car !!!

This is my (1zippo1) second account.

The Alfa 159 is indeed beautifull. I liked it very much! Not as much as the GT, but then again that's a coupé. There were 5 Alfa 159's. In total there were maybe 30 more cars then people to drive them. It was incredible, I think there were a total of 70 cars to drive.

The best part was at the end when I asked wich Chrysler 300C had the most powerfull engine. Sadly you can't see it till you open the trunk so one guy said: you know what, just take two. Normally that wasn't allowed but we could anyway. So me and my dad drove the two 300C's. It wasn't a reall race, but the speeds we reached were far from legal and when we passed by the town center everybody was looking They probably thought the mob was coming through .

Oh and I asked the Maserati importer if they had asked him in june for the coupé-cabrio day. He said he would have been there if it wasn't at the same time as the "Ferrari days in Spa". But he would be there next year. So maybe I'll have the chance to drive a Grandsport

The 330i sounds nice indeed! We haven't driven the A6 3.2FSi.
The best sounding car was surely the Maserati.

Next time there are too many cars, I don't mind sacrificing myself to drive them But I guess the things are only allowed for invited guests.

Yep, and my dad can only bring one guest.

But if you know a doctor that's into cars, ask him if you can go along for the ride. The magazine is Autosfeer and it's a part of Medisfeer. I think all doctors get it.
