Default Autosfeer 4x4 test day

The cars we drove, in order from good to bad

Range Rover Sport Supercharged: superb sound, great handling for such a heavy car, rapid engine response.

Mercedes ML350: very good handling, good engine, could use a bit more torque, superb interior.

BMW 330xd:
lots of torque, excellent chassis, needs more steering feedback.

Lexus RX400: luxery, fantastic interior, lots of power.

Range Rover 2.7biturbo diesel: needs more power, rolls a lot but is the most refined car I’ve ever been in. Feels like nothing else (floats)!

Land Rover Discovery 2.7biturbo diesel: rolls too much in corners, feels heavy. Comfortable ride.

Hummer H3: Absobloodyfuckinglutely horrible! I think the powerband (or how do you call it in english) was broken. We couldn’t rev past 3000rpm. It must have taken at least 20 sec to go from 0-100km/h.

The one I would advise: Mercedes ML320CDi (more torque then the 350).

Two video's I've uploaded of when we were driving the Range Rover Sport Supercharged. I warn you, the quality sucks, there's no sound. But they're pretty small so you're not wasting bandwidth.

Who organised such event with many cars from many different manufacturers? That's for sure interesting. Was is set in a nice area allowing some offroad too?

YOu are lukcy you got the Supercharged! I was so depressed when some days ago I could test a RR Sport and got the fucking useless 2.7 diesel

That's an impressive list of cars you could choose out. And you've taken some good choices for the test drives. Maybe next time you should also try out one of the quads, that's pure fun

The event was organised by a car magazine (Autosfeer) that's a part of a medical magazine for docters (Medisfeer). It's from the same organiser as the events I posted about earlier.

berline-breaks day

coupé-cabrio day

We had to stay on a 15km road that was described in a road map. As allways, they had selected a wonderfull scenery. The roads were really twisty but not too crowded and with lots of long corners. The roads were full of holes but I suspect they chose those on purpose. An SUV is perfect for those roads! Sadly there was no offroad part involved. You could go offroad but then someone else was at the wheel. And me and my dad prefer to drive ourselves.

I can't tell you much about the 530xd since I didn't drove it. But I did drive the 330xd which was excellent. I took it above the 530 because it's lighter. The 330 has a superb chassis that soaks up smaller bumps magnificently. A stiff but not a harsh chassis. And a fast responsive and very powerfull engine (231hp 500NM).

I would like to have driven a quad. I've never done that before. But if I had done that I would have had to skip on at least two cars since you had to wait quite a bit for the quads. They allways waited for all the quads to be occupied before they left in a group.

The thing I'm really looking forward to is the next coupé-cabrio day next june. The Maserati PR guy told us he'll be present. I really hope so, I would love to get my hands on a Grandsport.

Oh and one more detail. They wrote down the check-in time and check-out time and the person who was driving. The average time was about 25min, me and my dad allways managed something like 20min
