Isn't it amazing that we had our website up and running for so long without any downtime. My company mail server crashes once a quarter or so. Or is it down for maintenance.
Even ferrarichat (which by the way is the only other forum that I visit frequently) is down a couple times a year with database issues.
Meanwhile JW chugs along merrily giving us our automotive/hobby fix.
Kudos to Jabba, Dan and IT team for doing a wonderful job.
Now if some of those combative political/religious/USA vs ROW or vice-versa topics reduced a bit somehow it would be perfect ..

step 1 is complete, the new drive is installed
Code:
Disk /dev/sdc: 400.0 GB, 400088457216 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 48641 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
later tonight I will partition it and copy the data over, and as I have to move some files that are necessary to make the site run there will be some more downtime

Yeh they apparently installed it as scheduled (did anyone notice any down time ?) but it wasn't showing up, hence the extra downtime about an hour ago, but as Karma said, all is well now.

Yea, I noticed it. To tell you tthe truth, I freaked out a bit ops:
I thought network security might of blocked the site.. frantically tried to access the site via blackberry and didn't get a response so I figured the upgrade was finalizing.
Glad to hear everything went smoothly!

UPDATE:
I've copied all the database etc to the new drive and restarted so we are now using that, so I think we're all good to go now
