Default Dual Boot problem

Here's the problem.

I have XP installed on C: and Vista was installed on partition D:

I've deleted the Vista partition, but everytime i boot up, the PC still asks me to choose an OS... is this because Vista still exists in the MBR?

Can anybody advise on how to fix this slight issue?

Cheers

PS - i deleted vista because it crashed out on me a little too often - i'm afraid my PC isn't good enough to handle it ops:

vista still exists in you BOOT.INI ..

unhide your system files and hidden files then goto C: drive

open your boot.ini in notepad

then copy and paste this into it

Code:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
Btw DONT DO THIS untill some other member verify's it ..

Yeah... this was what i though, but Vista has a whole different way of booting...

Theres a C:\Boot directory, and two boot files to delete...

Anybody got a run through of what to delete and how?
