Default Coupe 4

..i wanted to get some opinions on the HSV Coupe 4

its an AWD version of the monaro (or pontiac GTO in yankland)
with the 5.7l LS1 V8 pumping 270kW and 475Nm with a (sigh) 4 speed auto,
tipping the scales at 1830 kg, some mags have said its compertition is the
Evo and the S4 V8, which i thought was stupid......
i think the AWD wont compensate for the fat...
tell me what u think..

Yeah, the power to weight ratio sucks, so it gets beaten big time by the S4 and Evo. But the sound af a chevvy V8 is always nice.

Americas"yankland", has a better 6.0L. 400hp and 400lbs. of torque. But the AWD is a bit pointless cause the people here only use them to drag race. This AWD version is gas guzzling paper wieght.

The normal Monaro is RWD, but the Coupe4 is an AWD drive version.

I am very supprised to here you all dogging on this AWD version.
This AWD version is gas guzzling paper wieght
AWD would make a torque monster like this alot faster at the track. Alot of people dont get it, but an EVO rwd wouldnt be nearly as fast at the track. The reason they run times consistant with cars with much higher power to weight is that gold medal AWD launch.
I mean sure if you put slicks and a bigger rear end in it you could go faster RWD, but for a street car, AWD is 'teh roxor'!

Well its a very nice looking car, but i don't know, GM isn't the best maker out there. But on topic, I like AWD better, you can go faster in more kinds of weather or surfaces.

AWD system adds about 100 to 200 kg on the kerb weight, and as for street car supremacy, RWD is king, AWD's in corners will more likely to understeer when ur really pushing it, i HATE understeer, AWD's get good off the line, but after that, its just extra weight.....

well it is based on the Monaro, so its kind of inevitable that it will look 'Australian'.

Looks cool but sounds way too flabby and needs a manual option. I'd take a Monaro thanks.
