Default Got our SLR today

Price tag set at $465K. Yeah it's a supercar, but i just can't get xcited about it. The automatic trans kills it for me.

I might take my good camera back this weekend and get some better pics.

it's a luxury car dealership not just BMW.

And I have to say I love this car even if it is an automatic the car is still damn fast. I felt slow and poor driving an NSX when that car pulled up next to me at the light. All I can say is the kids in front of us in a Grand Prix were staring at both of us.

yes i work for BMW. Our dealer is BMW, Honda and Mercedes. The SLR is siting in the old Honda showroom, which is supposed to be renovated for us since Honda just got a whole new building. BMW is supposed to move to the vacated building after the showroom and shop are renovated, which is supposed to be early 2007.

ATM, BMW and Mercedes are sharing a shop and parts department (which has both companies a little aggitated) but after we move they are supposed to fix up the current German shop. They are going to have to do something soon, because we still don't have the lift to pick the SLR up. It's a $20K lift lifting it wrong will crack the monocoque and total the car.

Its probably the only car I didnt care at all when Gumballers came to Prague last summer, as Z said i cannot get excited by it, maybe a drive in it would change it
Is it possible to have a ride in it? I mean when a owner of dealership or manager would like to try it on? If they will at all..

no one drove it. No one is really sure what's going on with it. Speculation is that the owner's son is going to take it because it was ordered with large seats and she isn't big by anymeans. THe original rumor was that the owner was going to buy it, but she isn't the type to pick up something like that. Her Z8 has left the showroom all of 3 times since i've been here.

However there is ONE person in town that they think may be interested in it and that's the guy that had the F430, Gallardo, M5 and S500. But i don't think he's expressed any interest towards it.

Chances are, after it gets PDI'd today (Mercedes has to send in some one to do the PDI. I THINK the guy is a McLaren rep, but that's just a guess) it's going to flat spot the tires on the showroom floor as it will never be driven. This is just going to end up being eyecandy for the Mercedes showroom like the Z8 is eyecandy for BMW.

I see a black one everyday on my way to work. Parked outside the Romans dealership (they do "special cars" only), because inside, they've got the MC12, the Enzo, the new Vantage, and a Phantom.

I guess they felt the McMerc just wasn't that special.

Simply after designing the SL, I realised that it wasnt possible to imagine, to create, to dream seeing even a more beautiful car, but naturally I was wrong; regardless the SLR´s colour, interior, there is no adjetive for describing the car
