The cars with no prices are prize cars, won through various events (missions, licences, races). You can't ever buy them.

Yeah I hate that bullshit they put in games like this. Why cant I just buy it and race where ever the freak I want. But I believe you can get any car in the game you want but it will cost ya in real life. Only like 20 bucks. Get a gameshark or Action Replay or something.

It's possible to buy the cars, but you have to do it sort of "backchannel". You can trade cars from one memory card to another (or from one card to the same card) if you like. You'll have to buy them for some outrageous amount of credits, but it's possible.

Actually they are easily bought with a GameShark

Simply boot up with the "all cars cost 1 credit" code loaded.
