It's so morons that shouldn't be driving a shift car anyway don't destroy their cars. It really is just a toy. But the one BMW tiptronic that I've driven was the same way; sluggish, and it would shift even if you didn't shift it. For what it's worth it was an X5, which is certainly not a performance vehicle.
