How rich is Jeremy Clarkson?
I'm just wondering if anyone has any concrete figures for this. I've heard or seen rumours before that he's really rich and that's why he can afford the kind of cars that he has.. obviously Top Gear isn't paying him that much, so it must come from somewhere.
Does anybody have information on what else he does, or where he gets his dosh from?
Cheers.

He doesn't just do Top Gear he has done DVD's, other motoring related shows, magazine/ newspaper articles, adverts, hell even a talk show. As for concrete figures give the man some privacy, who cares honestly just be satisfied with the hours/weeks of entertainment us car nuts get
If your so interested why no ask him yourself, found this while looking for his career history on google to post in here http://www.fanmail.biz/18501.html

Yeah he's also done DVDs like what has brought mankind forward etc, he's also a writer not just about driving but other columns as well. It's not a matter of privacy but just a curiousity thing.. like we all know how Bill Gates got rich.
I'm not asking for concrete figures on what he earns etc, or what his job pays, but almost any motoring hack will tell you that rarely does a motoring journalist/actor/etcetc ever own what they drive. In his case, his selection of cars rival the super-rich...

Much richer than I ever thought. He recently settled out of court for calling someones book (about Ferrari's I think) crap. The settlement was for over £200,000 and it didnt seem to bother him too much.

I think he hit it really big when the BBC almost gave him a blank cheque for agreeing to present the new style Top Gear.

so much for free speach in the media, i guess it would also have to do with the context it was said in ect.
he's rich enough to look at a GT40.. say "i want it" and get it!
i think most of his money comes from british car makers, no matter what crap they make he says he loves it, and it "has a charm to it" and bags the oftern faster europian cars...
