If i was a betting man, i'd be putting my money on this is a real octopus. I did marine studies for a few years and the amount of marine creatures that can do these insanely cool sort of things would suprise you. :fadein:

The video won't work on my shitbox, but I'm guessing the octopus changed colors exremely fast?
If so, they aren't the only animal that can do it. Squid are best known for it. They flash different colors repeatedly.

If you want to see something cool, check out Mimic Octopusses. I would hope their name gives away it's abilities.

No too long ago, an octopus was filmed walking on two legs to escape. Might not seem important, but it's the first time it's been seen. Not counting the fact that bipedal movement is pretty rare. I'll see if I can dig up the video, it's pretty cool. It balls itself up and starts running.

Yup IMO it is real...I've seen octopusses do amazing things while diving...you can't really tell they're there until they decide it's too close...

And if you think this octopuss is impressive, you should check out this other octopuss like creature called the sepia or sephia...those things are unbelievable, sadly I haven't seen them while diving...

What does the Sephia do? Going transparent (translucent?) is pretty damn cool in my book, i struggle to figure out what could top it!

Have any of you guys seen the vids of the Giant Octupuses in the Pugeot Sound? I rememebr about 6 or 7 years back one decided to say hello to a diver near the Port of Seattle by attatching itself to the divers goggles for a moment before calmly swimming away.
