I still don't understand that why Mercedes still stressing on their automatics in such a track oriented car. No offence, I would also prefer turbo than supercharged in this CLK.

0-160 km/h in 8.1 seconds that is really really fast. I would get rid of the side panels though and keep everything else. May someone please translate the positive and negative comments at the bottom of the page?

Great article.
I think that Mercedes should put a paddle shift gearbox.

Exactly....one of the best mercedes ever made....its very curious that from quite many years ago the whole AMG versions has the authomatic gearbox choice only....anyway the progress that they are doing with the gearbox is big, once there is an enormous difference between the current E55 AMG gearbox and the C43 AMG one in terms of shifting speed......and they are improving quickly as well, once in a few days they are going to launch the 7 speed semi authomatic gearbox....and soon, im sure that they are going to get a gearbox that it will be as successful as the current DSG VAG group gearbox

The only things that turn me off about the car, the 2 pedals instead of 3, and the 1680kg weight...otherwise I like it.
Thanks for the great article!

That's the only thing in Merc's part-bin can cope with the monster torque from AMG supercharger, and its "shift-time" is quite fast.

If I remember correctly this project/car was actually not done by AMG, but by HWA. A team that currently runs a few CLKs in the DTM.
Sure they use AMG part, so really this is the "CLK DTM AMG HWA"
