1970 Lancia Fulvia Rallye 1.3S
In record time, here I am, home, with the Fulvia in the garage!
To think I paid the deposit around 24 hours ago. Thanks to my dad and some of his time, I was able to obtain the plates before evening and pick it up this morning.
As it was a marvellous morning, with pretty deserted roads, I took it for a spin along Como Lake and its stunning views.
The car feels very VERY special to drive, and I never owned such an old piece of kit. It's just mind blowing. So much different than modern cars, and obviously (for me) so much better. Everything is so pure, so classic yet so fresh.
The big steering wheel isn't razor sharp, the tiny tires don't give you ultimate grip, and 1000+ kp and 90 hp would be trashed by any modern hatch, but you don't give a flying crap about all of that to be honest.
It barely has 60'000 km, and many parts are new (engine head, carbs, exhaust system, brakes, wheels...). Only the interior shows the 37 years of life...
The jaw dropping soundtrack of the 1298cc engine come straight from another planet. So rich and still hungry for revs.
It's a 1970 car but it already has 4 discs providing stopping power. Being new, they don't perform perfectly yet, but they are great already.
The very long gear lever is strange, but you quickly get the hang of it, and all in all, it feels just perfect.
Just a pic for now. I need to eat something and then I'll be out on the road again obviously!
Custom shot

Such a BAD ASS Car!
Reminds me my VAZ 2101. from the 70's, too!
I can fully understend when you're talkin about Old Skul Interior and Performence!
Big Steering Wheel and Tiny Tires LOL!
How do you like the feeling on 100km/h ?
Isn't it like "WE GONNA DIEEE!!!" ?

I didn't go beyond 80 km/h so far as the roads are narrow and twisty there, but the nice thing is you don't need to go fast to have fun
And well, the second bike is still a work in progress obviously

LOL, I was hoping that, with all the changes happened lately, I could survive some hours without a custom shot
Anyway, I've got the original user manual, so it won't be a problem to have it posted tonight

Hehe - "survive without a custom shot"
Nice classic, Lancias have never been my favourites, in fact I mfind manyof them very ugly - but this model has a certain attractiveness about it.
Enjoy.
And the first time s "modded" Fulvia blows your doors off, you will take back what you say about "Youdont have to fast to have fun" hehe

Well, you sure are on a spending spree, how many new rides have you bought since you got your first job? Seems to me like 4 (including the bike... or bikes... eh?).
Enjoy the new ride
