I have adaware and S & D... I know for a fact that theres still spyware. These programs simply keep it to a level where the computer is still useable. There probably tons of adware/spyware left on my comp still. Im just impressed because my comp was barely able to function before, and now its runnin like a champ after one round of adaware.

The tea timer that comes with new SPYbot is really good.
I also recommend using the "Adblock" extension for Firefox.

no way you can have that manny if you have spybot!
Get the latest version of SpyBot and have it install TEATIMER
TEATIMER installed will make spybot run on your taskbar and prevent most of the spyware to get to your comp.

OMG  1058 New Critical Objects ! The need for installed AdAware was largely justified.

and definetly STOP using InternetExplorer for browsing the web - its most popular browser so its easiest to get through for all that crap.
When im under Window$ I use only free software - Mozilla Firefox for browsing, Spybot S&D for removing (if anything gets through ) spyware, and Avast antyvirus for viruses - and I have to mention that I dont have niether SP1 nor SP2 instaled - and everyting works perfect

Apart from p2p programs like Kazaa, etc, where do these adware and spyware programs come from?

HOLY SHIT! That has to be the dirtiest computer I've seen yet!
Lavasoft Adware is a great program, just remember to dl the updates before you scan. I'm almost sure they release an update everyday.

Sometimes if you delete certain adware associated with p2p programs like kazaa, they will stop functioning. I imagine you can get rid of the rest with no ill effects.
