Default Al Gore called overseas for a global warming event

A message from Barbara Boxer (Democratic Senator from California) to concerned JW members:

"I just got a call from Vice President Al Gore. He told me that he needs to travel abroad tomorrow for an exciting and urgent mission that could result in a major breakthrough in the fight against global warming.

Unfortunately, this means that we must postpone our Thursday, October 11th event with him until Friday, November 9th. I wanted to be sure to e-mail you tonight in case you were planning on attending.

While I am really disappointed that we won't see Al Gore until next month, I am thrilled that he is continuing to provide critical leadership to address one of the most pressing issues of our time. You should know that only the most urgent global warming mission has called him out of the country."

I know that like me you are very excited at what appears to be the big chance that Al Gore has won the Nobel Peace Prize.

I would like to publicly be the first to congratulate him on what is obviously an important award.

As it turns out, ol' Limbaugh is regularly tested as part of his deal... and has been clean since.

Al Gore and I are buddys now.

It appears that he is the only one that can stop the Clinton socialist express train.

A green party ticket with Al Gore would insure a Republican victory, unless Giuliani is nominated and the Christian right decides to run a candidate. Then its a real horse race.

Well my guess is that he has achieved more in life than you who actually call him a loser.

Gore has been a very successful ex vice president.

I will applaud him for a job well done.

Some things you may not know about Al Gore. He holds (or at one time did) a Large (with a capital L) amount of stock in the Occidental Petroleum Company which he inherited from his father.

While he was vice president he assisted in the negations with the Occidental Petroleum Company in the sale of the "teapot dome oil fields" in California (the teapot dome field is actually in Wyoming the other two fields were located in California but were part of the same scandal in the '20's) (no scandal for some reason in the '90's)

At the time the Clinton administration was trying to get rid of oil, as it was pretty much worthless at $10 a barrel. Clinton even wanted to sell the oil in the stragetic petroleum Reserve, as what would we ever need it for.

Neither Bill or Al during those 8 years worked on a comprehensive energy policy for the US, as the old policy of just buying lots of cheap oil from Iran, Iraq, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela, seemed to work just fine.

So instead of keeping teapot dome oil fields for a rainy day, they sold the fields to Oxy on the cheap. They had been held in reserve for the Navy so they could be used in time of an emergency.

Remember buy low sell high. Bill and Al did the opposite. Oxy did really well with that purchase and Al may have done very well himself.

Oxy is occasionally in the news as it does a lot of drilling in Columbia and has come under fire for drilling on the ancestral land of the O'Wa indians. Gee that doesn't sound very sensitive.

I don't know if Al is still a large shareholder in Oxy, but I believe he was at one time as that is where his family fortune came from.

But Al and I are buddys now, all is forgiven. If he decides not to run, then we will see.

Well, the british court was wrong. At least one of the supposed faults is in fact true; there are in fact islands that are being permanently evacuated because of rising seas.

Besides, it's completely moronic to compare factual errors to doping. Would the film have been any less convincing without these points? No. Did Gore try to cover up? No, he provides a huge list of sources.

Well, the british court was wrong.
Until the Court of Appeal of England and Wales overturns the decision, the High Court of Judicature (Divisional Court? - it doesn't say) is 100% correct.
