Well here are some tips on how you can tell if someone is Ukrainian by last name.

-enko in the ending

For example: Shevchenko, Cravchenko, Fedorenko

That for Eastern Ukrainians.

Now the Western Ukrainians have no real specific ending or sound to them.

Thats all I know, not good with names.

n russians all have -ov at the end of there last names.

like cherakov, yablokov, karasyov. =D
