Default Schumy Donates 10 million dollars to Tsunami Victims

Its good to see that Michael Schumacher is generous to those in need. I wonder if any other sport stars will follow his lead.

"The dawning of the New Year has not been as joyful for us this year because of the catastrophe in Asia. We sympathise with the victims in their grief," Schumacher said.

10 Mil is alot coming from a single person. I have read that Schumi is a generous person and this really shows it. He is even taking the time to see that it gets put where it is needed. Hopefully other F1 stars and teams will join in.

Well schumy is by far the best paid f1 driver, so i dont expect any other driver to come anywhere near that 10 million, but its the gesture of goodwill the matters the most. And i have to say he does show a lot of character. I dont like him on the track(cause he always wins ), but he does seem be a caring person with all the charities he supports.

That is suprisingly generous, lets see if the Beckhams or Bill Gates will follow suit.

I think he already has a 'special' agreement with the local government where he lives in Switzerland, so I don't think that was the reason for doing it.

Well...I'm glad to see he has some depth as a person and not only as a stoic and robotic man. Aside from the 7 championships I now have real respect for him.

very admirable of schumi. 10 mil from a single race driver is a very impressive donation

A few NBA players have said they will donate $1000 for every point they score in a certain game this season.....which will probably 'only' be around $25-30K each, which is not much considering the $$$ they earn.
