Default You know your family loves you when...

...You've been dead on the couch for 10 years and they didn't notice...

TOKYO -- A Japanese man and his two sisters were worried something might be wrong with dad. And they were right.

The old man had been dead for nearly a decade. Police questioned the three elderly siblings Tuesday, after the decomposing body of their father was found lying on a futon bed in the family's home.

Police said the man's children thought he was still alive, but became worried lately and consulted a relative. Police said judging by the condition of the remains, the father could have died as long as 10 years ago.

It has to be 10 days. It can't be 10 years since they say his body was still decomposing.

It is very possible. According to another report i read, (i forgot where) the family received money because of him, so even if the family knew that the guy was dead, (which is very very believable) they could have just pretended that he's alive.

Or since they are Japanese, they could be part of a crazy cult.

I think you're wrong!! lemme find that thing. The old man you're saying was the oldest man in japan, and the city goverment gave him a monthly pension for being...duh... the oldest man. But the family didn't allow the mayor to see and meet the old guy, because he "was lying down and resting"
but now this week, authorities found out that the old man was dead for... about 3 years or something.
just lemme find that headline
