A 'sports' car does not have 4WD
Sports Cars :
Porsche Boxster
Honda S2000
BMW M Roadster (Z3 possibly)
Lotus Elise
TVR cars
etc
GT Cars :
Aston Martin DB7
Jaguar XK8
Noble M12 GTO
Nissan Skyline
Porsche 911
Etc

Noble M12 GTO = a GT car?? I don't agree with that, first of all it has a lightweight body + a turbo carged enigine. And there is minimal confort.
I think that is a more pure sportscar then any of the car's in your sports car list.

SDK, all the cars you listed as sports cars are roadsters; was that intentional or just a coincidence?
I think the old formula of sports car = light, fast, rwd doesn't necessarily apply so much any more. The Skyline and GTO are definitely not Gran Turismos since they are so stiffly sprung. GT cars should effortlessly travel hundreds of miles on an autobahn (for example, an SL55, or maybe even a 911 Turbo). If anything they emphasize track performance over everyday drivability (that's why the M-Spec GT-R was created: the regular GT-R was too nervous for high speed commuting).
Anyway, just my opinion, I'd be interested to hear more of what you have to say.

To a certain extent I would definetly agree with you. But sports cars still= light fast. RWD does not appy so much because of what is accomplished now with awd.

All I can say about Skylines is that they are good cars but nothing special. I rarely ever saw a video of one or one in person that is not modified. Thats the problem with the car they are all modded because they are not good enough in their stock configuration. Thats what I dont dislike about the car, they always need to be modded to perform good. Yes a modded skyline will win against a stock F355, but If I start modding the 355 the skyline is going to get smoked like a peace of ham on a bbq. A 355 with a twin turbo only(only a twin turbo and a new ECU chip) can pump out 560hp at rear tyres and 0-60 3.7sec.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. But part of the idea of the Skyline is that it was overengineered from the start. It was originally designed as Godzilla, a homologated road car that a racing car could easily be adapted from. It's not as pure a sportscar as a 355, but it is still more a sportscar to me than anything else. (Plus it's hampered by the 280 ps limit of Japan, whereas the 355 is not. Would you feel the same way if it also came with 380 hp stock?)]
And Flawless, I think you're right. To me, the most pure sports cars on the road today are things like the Lotus Elise: light, simple, fast. They also have characterful design and are rare. In that way, a Ferrari much more easily fits the mold than a GT-R. Still, judging purely on performance, I would say that the GT-R can join that group; it still holds impressive times at the Nurburgring.

It's a poor man supercar. When u don't have the money to buy enzo, zonda, etc, u buy the skyline gtr.
It's not that expensive in asia.

i wouldnt call it POOR mans supercar at all
the skyline isnt in the class of enzos anyway, you could buy like 7-8 skylines for the price of one enzo so sayin its a poor mans supercar is wrong totally

On my opinion the Skyline is an overpriced car. Furthermore in stock trim it is a a bit "Slow" when compared to cars in the same price range. Still a great looking car IMO

definetly.. out the box, it's not really spectaular for the price, but it is a nice looking car and isn't a slug, plus there's plenty of potential if you're willing (or are able) to spend that amount of money
