Default Jan 20th - Porsche 996 Turbo indepth

This was a very quick indepth actually. Partially planned, but in the end not really much time (ence why the pics in the first location are far from perfect with other cars in the way :bah: ) The car is still a stunner after some years and I enjoyed the ride a lot! The 6 points racing harness adds to the experience for sure, as do the racing seats! As you can see in one of the pics, there is even the little gadget used in case your stomach has enough
Even if we didn't really come close to its full potential (following the black Modena which had summer tires ), I am sure on full boost this car must scare the hell out of you!

This is no way like 99% of the 996TT we can see around town here. They usually have the comfort seats and are used as daily drives, sure, but mostly in town..
This one has racing seats, racing harness, roll cage, not-so-stock exhaust, it is lowered (quite a lot!) and probably a couple more things I forgot ... and it does LOT of trackdays! It has 230'000 km on the clock and got a new engine 10k ago! The owner uses it every day to go to work and he is quite often on track during summer. Also during winter actually since tomorrow there will be a snow driving "track" day and he'll be there with us . The Nordschleife sticker isn't there just to be cool: the car lapped that infamous loop countless times

For the first time we tried some traveling shots, but it's not as easy as it might seem in the magazines if you don't have an airstrip where you can use the boot of a car to shoot like you should. On open road you can't do that, and to pop out of the window isn't that easy actually! LOL

Anyway, enjoy the pics, there are a total of 27 high-res you can find by clicking the previews

Wow - This guy is a great man. Posts on alot of Porsche forums and is really helpful in every situation. His car is awesome and he definately uses it to full potential. I've seen one photo of his car window deep in snow

Very nice, a shame the car is that colour but with the snowy background it still looks very cool! I love the track-inspired mods he has done, and its handy to be strapped in tightly with the rush you feel from those turbos!

SO what method did you use for the travellig shots, out of the window of the BMW?

A great bunch of pics, thanks.

Out of the window of an E39 M5 or B5 RS4, can't remember which one in this shot.. and you can imagine how nice it is on your face and hands when it's around 0 C outside

A common problem when shooting in snow, as the camera tries to get everything to 18% gray. Underexposing by 1 stop should cure the problem next time.

Ahhh...nothing like a a photosession with a dirty car Although the car looks pretty boring in the silver colour, I prefer it in red or navy. cheers for the pictures TT.
