Default Any advice for an injured back??

Well, I have done something odd to my back, and just woundered if anyone had any advice (there are a few med/nurse students about).

Right, don't laugh! I was doing some digging, and while lifting something not more than 5kg I felt shap shooting pains in my back. There was only one place I was going and that was the floor!!

The pain must have lasted a couple of mins at most. When I recovered, I could walk, but as soon as I tried to do anything that involved turning my spine and bending, I felt sharp pains. Standing up from sitting is difficult. any major bending hurts. If I stand straight, and point my head down and look at my toes I get some pain.

The pain is purely lower back, between the top of my ass and the small of the back.

I thought I would sleep on it, but this morning it is no better. Any advice on streatching how far I should push it, should I push it at all e.t.c If it is not better tomoz, I will book a visit to the physiotherapist.

I will book a visit to the physiotherapist

That, IMO, would be the best thing to do. Only trust the expert, man.

Ask the physiotherapist about gym excersis later on. If I get lazy my back gets a bit weak, some abdominal excersises with an general weights routine will reverse any pain.

im going to brutalize the spelling, but a cairopractor generally helps

also, if you have your back flat on the floor, and bend your knees, and rest your calves on a chair of some sort for some time, that helps too.

hope the back gets better soon
