New Z06 is a beast
http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1743465
Corvette is going the ways of racecar for street versus the other way around. I'm just having a hard time getting around the marque when I put it on paper next to something like Porsche...but the performance is there and the price is definately there...
Anyone know the reliability on the newer Vettes? I see some true sports car in my future. Ferrari and Lambo will likely be out of reach...but Porsche is there. I just dunno about Vette, but bang for the goddamn buck is THERE....

Strange how the 2001 Z06 represented the very same performance step in relation to the rest of the market at the time - the F360/P911TT ect... and all y'all had nothing but hate for the car...
Why the sudden change of heart?
Is it perhaps because every time the Iti's and Jerry's came out with a car, GM mathed it point for point - and yet again are meeting the "snob" cars head to head?

The performance is stunning for the money....Its performance will be like the SRT10 and F430....A few predictions: 11.5 or less @ 124-125mph in the right hands......Sub 7.50 at the Ring......Finally it will be without question faster on a roadcourse than any current Viper except the Comp Coupe....Im seriously thinking about selling my girl and my Benz for one...lol

I've never really liked Corvettes, except the ZR-1. But with the new C5, I started coming around. I actually liked the way it looked. Then the Z06 was so bad-ass. But when I sit in it, it feels cheap to me...?

The C6 body is still growing on me. I like the wider stance of the C5 and wish they did the headlights like the LeMans race car instead of like a Mitsu 3000GT.

Because the germans have a sportscar that hasnt needed to change its shape for 40 years.
Also we all know american cars fall apart on the test drives.
