my camera is canon A80. 4.0 megapixel
i find it when taking picture at nite... the higher the iso number.. the higher the grain number
basically if i have a tripod,,, i can choose a low iso and leave the camera opening for a long time to get a cleanner picure

Ah Gotcha. I have a 5.1 megapixel Sony DCS P93. I was wondering, what are some good settings or advice you have for taking night shots. I have a car meet coming up on friday and I wanna take some good pictures.

Thanks dude for the high-res!!
And of course, especially if you plan to shot many pics and don't want to try them all 10 times, have a tripod with you then, no flash, just a slow shutter and keep the ISO low or else you will have the grain as stated already
I always take my night shots at 50 ISO
Canon Powershot Pro 1, 8 MP

the longer the exposure time, and greater exposure value, the more light is recieved by the optic, thus when its darker out, the light has greater effect.
mine is the Sony DSC 717 5.0 megapixel... and im quite pleased with its results, and optoins
